We are proud to announce Fellows’ appointment as Project Manager, Cost Consultant, and Employer’s Agent for YMCA on the redevelopment of Delta House in Bournemouth.
The project includes a complete refurbishment and repurposing of the site to provide 117 supported homes, associated staff facilities, a public gym, café, and commercial space.
A replacement frontage facing Westover Road is part of the plans, with the building fronting Hinton Road flattened to allow a six-storey extension to be built. The existing temporary accommodation entrance will move to Hinton Road and there will be two additional storeys on the Westover Road side of the building.
Sustainability is a big focus for this project, with several strategies being implemented. These include… High-quality durable materials are proposed across the front and back blocks which will result in lower maintenance costs and less upkeep to the building. Refurbishment of the front block and facade replacement will improve the environmental building performance, improving living conditions and reducing energy requirements for heating and cooling the facility. Enhancements to the energy supply have been incorporated into the proposals to ensure a 100-year life span for both new and refurbished buildings.
