Beech Gardens, Ludlow, Shropshire – Winner of ‘Small Residential Development of the Year (fewer than 100 units)’

Fellows Construction Consultants are pleased to announce that the Beech Gardens Project in Ludlow, was named winner of ‘Small Residential Development of the Year (fewer than 100 units)’ at the Insider Residential Property Awards, June 2019.

This innovative project compromises the demolition of previously neglected properties, and construction of brand-new extra care apartments and bungalows for the elderly/ retired community.

Fellows are extremely proud to have been part of this development, appointed as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors. Fellows worked closely with K4 Architects’ team in order to achieve a contemporary design on a strict budget, that vastly improved the older generation’s independence.

The scheme was built to HAPPI principles (Housing our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation) which aims to provide space, flexibility and daylight in the home and in shared spaces. The focus was also on adaptability and ‘care ready’ design. Beech Gardens boasts splendid central communal spaces, transforming the area into a main social hub for its residents. The popular winter gardens in all apartments allow a lot of light into the building and for views across Ludlow.
